Manifesting the Mari Dream House

Good day, Reader,

I met a woman once who said something that I still think about to this day. She was a spiritual person, and she told me a story about how she diligently manifested her dream living space. She wrote about every detail of every room in her journal, and one day she walked into the place she had described: her dream apartment.

The problem was, she hadn’t ever written about the outside of this place. The apartment was perfect; the location was not.

The moral of her story was to be COMPLETELY clear about what you want when you manifest. But also, manifest it! She made it happen!!

I have taken that to heart, dearest Reader, and I have planned, in excruciating detail, my dream house. I’ve gone so far as to actually draw out the house to scale

One of my best friends could live in a literal cardboard box and be fine as long as he had his friends and family with him. The memories matter more to him than the space. That is noble, but I can’t relate.

I cannot begin to explain to you how important a living space is to me. I am a homebody through and through. When the vibes are right- warm, cozy, aesthetic, organized, colorful, useful- my potential is limitless. When things are cluttered, stinky, messy, dirty, or ugly, I truly cannot function as a human being. God forbid the big light is on, or the decor is all shades of navy and grey. I wouldn’t be able to make memories because I would be wholly focused on how uncomfortable I was.

I don’t know why I am this way. I’ve accepted that I’m either going to live alone, or I’m going to have to meet a naturally tidy saint who has no strong opinions on home decor.

I don’t want a huge house; I want a high quality house perfectly crafted to my needs.

The Goods

I will share some collages with you now. Welcome, Reader, to my future home. Let me give you a digital tour.

Pictures are from Pinterest; I have no ownership of these images.

The Outside
Laundry line, porch hammock, walking stones, a folly, a big garden, overgrown flowers, and a little free library. Inspiration: Pride & Prejudice meets Credence by Penelope Douglas.
The Entryway
Upon entering, you shall be greeted by bright pops of blues, golds, greens, and reds. Stained glass, sun-like accents, and useful built-ins. Inspiration: the welcome desk of historic Inns, old train cars.
The Kitchen
Greens, brick, tin, natural wood, and red stone. Cabinets that look like they were once other types of furniture. Everything open and on display for easy access. A beautiful view. Inspiration: the old witch who lives in the woods.
The Living Space
Pink! Windows! Cozy! Little lights! Secret storage! Books, books, and more books! A ceiling mural of the stars. Floor seating. Inspiration: if the Moonstone Palace and the Townhouse in ACOTAR had a bohemian baby.
The Bathroom
Plaster, light, blue greens. Inspiration: English cottage meets fantasy novel palace.
The Bedroom & Closet

Dark blue venetian plaster walls with accents of velvet, pink, orange, gold. Inspiration: Chinoiserie meets Moroccan palace.

Details
Beads, butterflies, gold. Hidden surprises in the often overlooked. Inspiration: fairies, childhood.
The Art Studio
Light, but not too much. Apothecary storage. Organized chaos. Inspiration: my grandfather’s shop meets if Indiana Jones was an artist.

But Where?

I have thought about the location, too, lest I be tripped up the way the aforementioned woman was.

I like my current geographical location. I want to have a big sky view, overlooking rolling hills or mountains. I want enough land to feel private, but I want to be a part of a community. I want to be close enough to groceries, a hospital, shopping, restaurants, and a movie theater. I’d love to be near water so I can go kayaking. I want my surrounding roads to be safe enough to ride my bike.

P.s. Reader, I guess I’m coming out of retirement. It seems I have a job offer.

Also!!! The literal bane of my existence, source of all stress, provider of premature wrinkles and grey hair is! Almost! Over! At least, it’s over for the next year!

Life is okay! I hate saying that because every time I say that, I jinx it.

Speaking of Jinx, I’m watching Arcane on Netflix, and it’s pretty good!

That’s all.
