Greetings, Reader,
If you’ve looked at my bucket list, you may have seen “get an astrological reading” checked off.
I thought I would talk about that a little bit, because I do hope to use this blog in part to track my bucket list.
You should know, I don’t believe in horoscopes. I think relationship compatibility depends on more than your sign. (However, I will say, the people I have had instant undeniable chemistry with have had totally compatible birth charts. They were TERRIBLE relationships so I still don’t believe it, but it’s an interesting coincidence.) I don’t like when people excuse their behaviors because of their sign. I don’t like it when people forget they have personal agency and the ability to change.
In general, though, I think astrology is fun. Like most new age things, I think it can be used as a tool to learn more about ourselves, our connection to the world, and our relationship with spirituality.
I bought a three part birth chart reading off of Etsy. I wanted to know what the stars had to say about my life. One was a generic birth chart reading, one was about love, and one was about the divine feminine.
I read through them all and noted any repeated messages that resonated with me to see what the planets advised about my life.
My Notable Astrology Lessons To Remember:
- Learn to dance/learn yourself to be more comfortable in your body
- Learn to think more & speak less
- Meditate and be present
- Consider your feelings before acting
- Find a community or organization, it will add fire to your soul
- Trust your intuition
- Take things slower, softer
- Love yourself
- Move to the beat of your own drum
- Set boundaries/be honest about your needs and wants
Thoughts
Yeah, they are pretty generic, but I think the most important part of that list is that it’s what stood out to me. Those are the points I feel called to integrate into my life. Those are the goals to strive for, the practices to engage, and the reminders I need.
Advanced Technology Meets the New Age
As I was writing this post, I had an idea. What if I fed my reports to AI and had AI summarize them for me? Would they be more unique? More descriptive of me as an individual? Would they disagree with each other?
It’s possible those things above stood out to me because I, like most humans, struggle with them, while the unique stuff is such a part of me that I don’t think about it.
Let’s find out.

Thoughts
I don’t know, Reader, I’d say this is pretty accurate to who I am or who I’d like to be. Does it seem generic to you? Pretend it’s your report- are you like “yeah, that’s me”?
I was sold once it said I value decorum. I feel like that’s such a weird little quirk of mine that most people don’t seem to care about or even expect in long term relationships, but it is huge for me.
Speaking of relationships, notable lack of those mentioned here. Given that I know venus is your love sign, and one of the houses is supposed to be relationships or family or kids or something, that seems notable. Let’s do the love one next.
Love & Relationships
Summary
- Projects strength but has a secret sensitive side and complex emotional nature. Pursues with intensity, even through challenges. Drawn to deep truths.
- Experiences high emotional intensity which can be misinterpreted as aggression of disapproval. Comes off as elusive or hard to pin down.
- Verbal connection and communication is vital; body language doesn’t often convey true feelings.
- Values growth and dynamic experience; strong dislike for stagnation. Requires relationships with room to grow and change. However, will not change just for the sake of change.
- Driven for independence and originality at the expense of social acceptance, which causes tension between personal goals and social realities.
- Has a knack for turning dreams into reality, though success can cause personal relationships to take a back seat.
Thoughts
This… seems right. I’ve never been the sort of person who always has to be in a relationship. I like being single. Most of the time, I prefer to be alone.
Although, I’m pretty sure one of these reports says it’s my life purpose to learn how to be more open to relationships, to lean on others instead of being so independent. So maybe this isn’t necessarily a good thing.
Divine Feminine
Summary
- Emotional, psychic, moody, passionate, creative, empathetic- sometimes too compassionate; boundaries are important. Likes to make things happen, to start new things.
- Prioritizes self-expression and personal growth. Enjoys lifelong learning and exploring new ideas.
- Seeks equality, growth, and deep connections in relationships; must allow for space and self-care.
- Driven by career goals, spiritual ideals, and contributing positively to the world.
- Driven by a need for independence and autonomy, struggles to ask for help.
- Driven by a need for recognition, comfortable in the public eye.
- Priotizes career; uses a balance of rationality and intuition to guide all pursuits.
- Only likes relationships built on equality where both partners are powerful.
Thoughts
Reader, this report was LONG. 70 pages long. The AI summary does it no justice. There was so much to be condensed into a little bite sized chunk.
It provided a much more in depth look at how everything comes into play as a woman, rather than simply as a person. Still noticing a lack of mention of kids, which seems more telling in this very detailed report on womanhood. Is that written in the stars for me, too?
Otherwise, this all seems in line with the woman I’d like to become.
Bonus
There was one part that I found particularly odd. At the end of the general report was a timeline of my life with some more specific dates. This included specific events and experiences I’d had/have as indicated by astrology.
Reader, they were right. Trust me when I tell you they were specific- it wasn’t like “as a teenager you felt misunderstood.” It was more like “on or around this date you will experience something that will alter your career for life.”
Lo and behold, it was right. I do believe humans perpetuate the self-fulfilling prophecy but 1. I had forgotten about this report when the thing happened, and 2. The thing was entirely as a result of the actions of someone else.
There was more like that. That part was a little freaky.
Review of Astrology Readings
If you have basic curiosity and a little free spending money (or need an idea for a gift), I would say you should do it. Why not do it, Reader? You don’t have to believe it if you don’t like what it says.
I felt seen, validated, and called out, all in one.
There were parts that felt like I was receiving permission for living the way I had always felt drawn to. Like if it was written in the planets, if this random stranger on the internet could see that it was my life’s calling, then it was right for me.
I felt reassured with the parts of myself that make me insecure. Things that I felt okay with, but other people criticized. They are simply a part of who I am.
And I couldn’t hide from the parts of myself that I tend to brush over, my flaws. Since I was being made aware of them, it was now on me to make a conscious effort to do better.
All of these realizations are excellent for self-growth. At the end of the day, I won’t become anything if I don’t put the work in.
Overall, it was a fun little experience, and I would recommend it.
See you next week!
