An Introduction (ft. my love of lists)

Welcome, Reader. My first post. Gasp. Exciting. Scary.

Growing up, I always had a blog. It was a nice way to reflect, and I miss it. Now so many blogs feel like a ~*brand*~. I remember when it felt like you were getting to know a person without being so contrived. I felt like I couldn’t do it now unless I was being a brand, too, which is silly. This blog will be my own little corner of the internet to just be a person.

You should know that I am a fan of lists and organizing. It seemed right that my first post was me using lists to organize my thoughts around this thing. I’m guessing there will be some overlap between my major categories but that’s life, baby.

Let us begin! Here are the topics I would like to use this blog to explore:

Personal Growth

  • Self-discovery, self-love, self-esteem (all the selfs)
  • Trying new things, gaining skills, and being okay with failure
  • Challenging myself and pushing past my comfort zone
  • Learning lessons, reflecting on the journey, sharing insights
  • Becoming more independent and self-reliant
  • My inner journey with spirituality and beliefs
  • Accepting myself for who I am: the good, the bad, and the ugly
  • Becoming the person I would like to be, the person I see myself being
  • Accepting change as time goes on, in myself and in life
  • Embracing the cringe, being playful, finding joy, making life magical
  • The transformation of improving and accepting myself
  • Identity, life purpose, core values, and my authentic self
  • Living a life aligned with all of the above

Wellness

  • My mental health journey and struggles; not broken, just different
  • My physical health journey and life post eating disorder
  • The importance of balance, holistic health
  • Meditation and mindfulness
  • Healthy levels of self-awareness and self-reflection
  • Developing realistic good habits
  • Exploring fitness and having fun
  • Becoming the best physical version of myself to make it easier when I’m old
  • Relationships and connection
  • Healing from trauma and abuse
  • Breaking free from unhealthy thought patterns
  • Learn to believe in myself and support myself
  • Self-love and all that encompasses
  • Nutrition with the goal to feel good and live fully
  • Self-care and stress management

Adventure

  • Embracing new experiences
  • Living my life instead of just being alive
  • Creating a reality I don’t feel the need to try to escape from
  • Falling in love with people, places, things
  • Challenging myself
  • Exploring the world instead of staying in my own little corner
  • Feeling alive, that good feeling of exhaustion
  • Dancing to the beat of my own drum, even if it’s nontraditional
  • Trying things without the fear of being imperfect
  • Being excited to discover and grow instead of being afraid to change
  • Spontaneous adventures and embracing opportunities

Passion

  • Finding fulfilling work
  • Having a sense of purpose
  • Pursuing interests
  • Improving my craft
  • Finding my flow state, dedication to meeting goals
  • Chasing my dreams and ambitions
  • Being creative without worrying about perfection
  • Finding inspiration everywhere
  • Exploring all my interests (art, writing, etc.)

Pleasure

  • Luxury and indulgence
  • Hobbies: cooking, reading, baking, etc. (see bucket list- I have lots of things to try)
  • Beauty and aesthetics
  • Comfort and quality
  • Leisure and relaxation
  • Sensory experiences
  • Gratitude and mindfulness
  • Simple pleasures, simple living
  • Rejuvenation and self-care
  • Personal satisfaction/enjoyment

I think that just about covers it, for now. Writing this post feels a bit too much like those contrived blogs I’m trying NOT to emulate so I’m going to end it here, but I wanted to sort of set the scene.

Till the next, Reader!
