Despite reality, I identify as a 60-something retired divorcée ready to live her best life (think Under the Tuscan Sun meets Eat Pray Love). I’m using this blog to encourage myself to go places, try things, and learn new stuff.

I aim to take life one day at a time. My plans have never gone to plan, and I’ve accepted that the Traditional Life Path™️ isn’t for me. Honestly, I never thought I’d make it this far, so I never really considered what I wanted my future to look like. All I know is I want a life that’s peaceful, secure, and fulfilling. I want the freedom to pursue my interests and grow as a person.

When I was a kid, I wanted to be a cowgirl-ballerina-singer-writer-astronaut. My interests never really narrowed down, and I’ve always felt a bit lost about my purpose. I ended up in a career that I didn’t love but was pretty good at, until it drained me of everything I had. I left that job without a backup plan, and now I’m trying to figure out a better path for myself.

I’m generally happy, except for when I’m not. I’ve been diagnosed with various mental illnesses, learning disabilities, and neurological conditions. My favorite is synesthesia—I feel in color. My least favorite is the crippling chronic depression, but we can’t have everything, can we? Silver lining: my creative inspiration is endless.

So, Reader, stick around. Maybe we can help each other. Maybe you can learn from my mistakes, or at least be entertained. Whatever it is, you’re welcome to come along for the ride.
